1) She is presently under investigation in Alaska for abuse of power
She supports drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge and anywhere else big oil wants
2) She strongly supports big oil (her husband works for oil company BP)
3) She stands for everything that Hillary Clinton stood against
4) She is adamantly opposed to reproductive rights for women
5) She has no federal or international experience. Prior to being governor (for less than two years) she was only the mayor of a small town and a beauty queen!
6) She believes global warming is a farce and is opposed to listing the polar bear as an endangered species
7) She believes creationism should be taught in public schools
9) She supports Pebble Mine which will destroy the richest salmon run in the world
10) She supports aerial shooting of bears and wolves in Alaska
11) She is pro-war

1) She has made many good ol’ boys in Alaska angry, which is why they are investigating her.
2) She strongly supports her husband, and lots of people in Alaska work for oil companies.
3) She is very unlike Hillary; she would have left Bill after the Monica affair.
4) RVsW will stand on its own merit regardless of the president.
5) Her resume is very similar in scope to that of Obama.
6) The oceans temperatures are not rising, there is more ice in the arctic this year than last, and the temp measurements that an Inconvenient Truth is based on are suspect. See climateaudit.org
7)Alongside of science and math and evolution.
8,9,10)blab la bla
11) she is pro defense, that is very different from pro war.

On creationism from Palin: Taking what she said in full context puts a different light on it.
“In an interview Thursday, Palin said she meant only to say that discussion of alternative views should be allowed to arise in Alaska classrooms:
“I don’t think there should be a prohibition against debate if it comes up in class. It doesn’t have to be part of the curriculum.”
She added that, if elected, she would not push the state Board of Education to add such creation-based alternatives to the state’s required curriculum.
Members of the state school board, which sets minimum requirements, are appointed by the governor and confirmed by the Legislature.
“I won’t have religion as a litmus test, or anybody’s personal opinion on evolution or creationism,” Palin said.”
AND MORE:
Palin said she thought there was value in discussing alternatives.
“It’s OK to let kids know that there are theories out there,” she said in the interview. “They gain information just by being in a discussion.”
That was how she was brought up, she said. Her father was a public school science teacher.
“My dad did talk a lot about his theories of evolution,” she said. “He would show us fossils and say, ‘How old do you think these are?’”

Actually it doesn’t put that much of a different spin on it. As a teacher I agree that differing points of view are good to consider, but each in its own place. As a math teacher it is unlikely that I will have my students discussing Hamlet’s take on the quadratic formula. Creationism is not science, regardless of what the religious right would have you believe. Scientists know this. You want to teach creationism? Fine, have a comparative religious studies course that pits the Christian version of creation against those of other religions. These are myths, not science. They have absolutely no place in a science class.

The thing that will hurt her the most? That 80’s photo above. Yikes.
Otherwise most criticisms against her are merely making a whole lot of otherwise unenthusiastic voters galvanize themselves against the Democrats, who — fairly or unfairly — just come off as being duplicitous (complaining about lack of experience?!) and self-righteous.

I’m not going to jump into the back and forth here. I get into that enough on my own blog, but I will say, “thanks” for posting the pics. Timely entry.

@Hannibal Glaser: you should actually read one or two things about her and know about whom you are speaking before opening your yap.
She ’supports’ big oil as much as the IRS ’supports’ you. She enacted a BIG ‘windfall profits’ tax on big oil that allowed her to use the revenue to reduce property taxes in Alaska by nearly 60%. That is about as un-republican as it gets and beat your man Obama to the punch by about 2 years.
Also, she has actually run Alaska for 2 years not been campaigning for president for 1.5 years and voting ‘present’ the rest of the time like Obama has been in his almost 2 years in Federal office.
Lastly, Woodrow Wilson had 2 years of gubernatorial experience as his sole basis for running for president and most wouldn’t argue that he did a pretty good job running the country during his tenure.
So…

Munch; that’s not even a good fake. C’mon if you are going to photo-shop something practice first.
“4) She is adamantly opposed to reproductive rights for women”
Thirty years ago medic science did not have the ability to look inside the uterous. Now that that is possible you can clearly see these are little people.
Check out South Dakota’s recent law requiring abortion doctors to notifi the mothers in writing that they are about to abort a viable, independant life living in them.
All of you abortion rights ppl never address the rights of the father. Is that just because the mother has to carry the baby for nine months? Didn’t she know that would be a possibility when she put her knees behind her ears?

Look is she drop down hot no maybe not, however she is way easier to look at than the dems old tired bitty’s. Hilary, Nancy, Boxer. Dems are mad cause our chicks are better lookin than theirs. She speaks with a sincerity that is void from your women leaders. She is serving for the people which is backed by acting on what she says she will do. Dems just doing the same old promises and no delivery saying what they have to so they can have power. (Think campaign slogan of over a year ago from senate and house dems alike. “WE WILL END THE WAR AND BRING OUR TROOPS HOME”. So any of you dems see that promise acted on?)
BTW Jimmy(Teacher)- Evolution is nothing but a theory with suspect data from Darwin. None of which has been proven beyond a doubt. There has been some scientific research done on creationism that would lend discussion about creationism. Therefore it has a right to be entered in the classroom as a theory just as much as evolution.
Hanibal- LOL yea whatever.

When it comes to Dems, since when does any Woman not have the right to choose..? I guess the right to choose only applies to Dems, the rights of a Woman only applies to Dems, and, the only qualified Woman are Dems….!
Ask yourself, is Sara Palins Daughter the only young woman to get pregnant and have a child under the age of 18…hmmmm!

She reminds me of a shy librarian with her hair pulled up and those “IQ” glasses. I bet she’s steamy when the hair is down and glasses are off.

Science and Creationism
The benefits from science are dramatic and widespread. By using scientific principles, man has pulled back the curtain of ignorance and advanced the quality of life for millions of people. With these achievements, science justifiably deserves a good reputation.
Taking a closer look, the essence of science is the scientific method where a hypothesis is tested by experiment. That is,
1) State the question
2) Form a hypothesis
3) Do experiments
4) Interpret data and draw conclusions
5) Revise theory (go back to step 2)
Instead of endless philosophical discussions to prove a point, experiment becomes the final arbitrator of truth – a successful approach. The issue becomes a bit sticky when discussing origins. How do we test the theory of evolution? We don’t have the luxury of having a miniature universe with eons of time in the corner of a laboratory.
So this leaves both evolutionists and creationists in same the boat. No absolute way to objectivity test their assertions. No eyewitnesses… Both are left to propose a model and then compare it with nature for consistency.
Notice too, that good theories are falsifiable. Now consider the theory of evolution … How can it be proved false? What fraction of the theory of evolution is open to invalidation, some small detail, or the entire principle? The approach seems to be, “look, you’re here and there is no intelligent designer so evolution must be true!”. Is this science or something else?

Weighin’ in on the Creationism talk. Firstly, stop putting Creationism in the scientist’s realm. The discussion is about Intelligent Design for which there is a wide-sweeping, viable argument. Have any Darwinists on this post taken a serious look at ID? I’d presume not (maybe not even the Creationists here have – and you SHOULD).
There are thousands of PhD scientists moving to put ID as a viable explanation for life. Many of which were Evolutionists before. Why? Because after giving it a chance, the evidence is overwhelming. Also, just about every doc will tell you, if answering honestly, Evolutionary Biology plays ZERO role in their medicine practice, pharmaceutical design, virology, astrophysics, etc. Evolutionary Biology only supports those who study Evolutionary Biology.
It should also be noted that Darwin’s theories play a large part in Eugenics. Eugenics is the principle that we can thoroughbred the human race by weeding out the less-than-perfect and stopping them from breeding.
Put it this way: Darwinism –> Eugenics –> Planned Parenthood (aka. Abortion Rights Activists)
If you value life, even if only a little, you’ll think about this: It’s only fair that since we’ve had Darwin’s antiquated theories jammed down our throats as justification for purposelessness over God-knows-how-long, that we take a good look at the Intelligent Design vs. Evolution *debate* and at least hear it out.

Bluespruce, I tip my hat to you. Excellent response to the first post.
We could take each candidate and create a long list of pros and cons for each of them. If you’ve been in politics, you’re going to make decisions that rub people the wrong way. A long list against a person is the sign of an involved politician, whether their involvement is a good thing or bad thing, it depends who you talk to. Obama doesn’t have a long list and that scares me.

Palin has an 80% approval rating in Alaska..that is great…She has had to be the Decision Maker in many instances in Alaska, something Barrack has never had to do…he votes present more time then making a yea or nay decision. All Barrack has done is successfully ran elections…he needs to do something of substance prior to running our country… and it is funny all comparisons are between Palin’s and Barrack’s experience, yet Barrack is the one running for President. Not what we need.
